Island of Rhodes
When Gods were sharing out the world, Helios the God of Sun, saw an island rising in all its beauty from the depths of the Aegean blue waters. He asked Zeus to give it to him, and Helios named it Rhodes, after his beloved. Locals worshipped their God, and he bestowed on them his light and warmth with over 300 days of sunshine each year.
Rhodes is blessed by Nature with a unique variety of landscapes and colours: The gold of its beaches, the blue of its crystal clear sea and the sky, the green of its quiet hills and valleys. The charms of Nature are complemented by the locals: Sincere and hospitable, warm-hearted and faithful to their traditions but always ready for anything new, the Rhodians love their island and make others love it too!The geographical location and, of course its beauty, has made Rhodes a target for many aspiring empires over the years, which left behind varying distinctive landmarks, resulting in an unrivalled resort that combines the cosmopolitan life of Europe, with the mysteries of the East.
Apart from the excellent weather conditions, the unique beaches and the crystal clear sea, there are many unique landmarks on Rhodes like the unique Medieval Old Town, designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, the town of Lindos, one of the most picturesque locations in Greece, the eco-park of the Valley of the Butterflies that attracts thousands of butterflies and the Seven Springs with seven trickling streams that flow into a lake.
But what is most appealing about Rhodes is the harmonious blend of Greek culture and hospitality, combined with a more relaxed lifestyle. And when it is needed, the modern world and its amenities are literally just round the corner.
