Is there a land registry in Rhodes?
Rhodes (along with Kos) is the only place in Greece so far with a Land Registry. From a purely legal point of view, the Land Registry of Rhodes functions on the basis of a lex fori, capable of protecting the prospective purchaser who can be 100% sure that the property is bought free of encumbraces, charges, liens, mortgages, adverse claims e.t.c.
It is worth mentioning that Greece unlike other European countries has a low inheritance taxation system. There is also not any Capital gain Taxation in Greece.
